Credit Value Estimator
What is your credit worth in cash?
Choose the credit and the amount. The estimator applies published 2026 price ranges and typical costs, and shows where every number comes from. Change any input and the link updates, so you can share the result.
How the estimate works
- Price range. Where a report gives a price for your credit (for example §45X or §45Z), we use it. For §45, §45Y, §48 and §48E we use the 2026 market floor of 80¢ up to the top price reported for investment-grade sellers of that type, and show the reported average. For other credits we use the market-wide range.
- Deal size. Smaller deals price lower: investment credits from deals under $20 million averaged 90.0¢, against 93.5¢ for $50–100 million deals.
- Costs. A broker fee of 1–3% and, if chosen, an insurance premium of 2–5% under $10 million or 1.5–3% above, both applied to the credit amount and deducted from the gross proceeds. Legal and diligence costs are not included.
- Net range. Low end: lowest price with the highest costs. High end: highest price with the lowest costs.
Indicative, not an offer or a valuation. Real prices depend on diligence, the seller's credit quality, insurance, timing and foreign-entity exposure. The Readiness Checker shows what a buyer will ask for, and the prices page compares every published report.
